Oliver Day Pratt, 73, died Saturday, August 15, 1987, at the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 1987, from Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Baxter Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, with Pastor Duane A. Lokken officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Paul Strand, with vocal music by Bonnie Rikke.
Casket Bearers were Lee Bengtson, Chandler Olson Jr., Craig Olson, Galand Oman and Larry and Wayne Pratt.
Military services were by the Orin Horgan American Legion Post 198 of Boyd, Minnesota.
Final Resting Place is Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Baxter Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota.
He was born June 18, 1914, in Baxter Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, to Edwin and (Walz) Christine Pratt. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Baxter Township. He attended country school in District 30 of Baxter Township and at Boyd.
He lived on a farm five miles north of Boyd until enlisting in the Army in 1942. He was discharged in 1945 and worked in Yellowstone Park for 14 seasons. He then retired and lived in the Boyd area until his death.
He is survived by his sisters, Nettie Oman of the Madison Lutheran Home of Madison, Minnesota and Lottie Hennen of Milaca, Minnesota; brothers Charles and Albert Pratt of Boyd; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Christine; and brothers, Ulysses and Ralph Pratt.
