Lloyd Severin Halvorson

Lloyd Severin Halvorson was born in Hazel Run, Minnesota to Henry and Ida Gautefall Halvorson on December 10, 1919. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended rural schools.

Lloyd and Virginia B. Olson were united in marriage on May 23, 1942. Lloyd served in the U. S. Army from October 1942 to November 1946. He owned and operated his own heavy machine business.

Among Lloyd's many activities and hobbies were the Anderson-Bestland American Legion Post 127, Granite Falls V.F.W. Post 3871, D.A.V., Hanley Falls City Council, Hanley Falls Fire Department, fishing, hunting, gardening and wood working.

Lloyd passed away on Monday, February 15, 1993 at his home in Hanley Falls at the age of 73.

He is survived by daughter, Linda Schindele and her husband George of Granite Falls, Minnesota; four sons, Michael of Minneapolis, Verle and his wife Dorothy of Mounds View, Minnesota, Dennis of Echo, Minnesota, and Dean and his wife Joy of Granite Falls; Grandchildren, John Schindele and his wife Candy of Winona, Minnesota; Brian Schindele of Granite Falls; Danielle, Mike, and Stacey Kvendru of Echo; Carrie and Robert Halvorson of Echo; one brother, Hiram; and one niece, Betty.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Virginia in October of 1991.
