Ken Pehrson Jr. Obituary

Kenneth “Ken” Pehrson, Jr. was born on June 8, 1934 in Minneapolis, MN to Ken and Eunice (Slough) Pehrson. He grew up the oldest of six children on a farm outside of Marshall and graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1952 before enlisting in the United States Army where he was stationed overseas in Stuttgart, Germany. After his discharge from the service, Ken was united in marriage to Connie Lovsness on November 8, 1958 at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in rural Cottonwood and the couple had three children: Brian, Tim, and Cindy. They raised their family in the rural Cottonwood area. Ken was baptized at the EUB Church of Marshall in September of 1959. Farming and driving semis were some of Ken’s joys in life, as well as working with his hands, from restoring John Deere tractors, to cutting, splitting, and burning wood.

On Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, at the age of 87, Ken passed away at Prairie Home Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Cottonwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Eunice Pehrson; parents-in-law, Ordell and Myrtle Lovsness; brother-in-law, Steven Lovsness, and sister-in-law, Jane Loy.

Ken is survived by his wife of 63 years, Connie; sons, Brian (Laura) and Tim Pehrson; daughter, Cindy (Lee) Ek; grandchildren, Sarah, Kjersten, Courtney, Crystal, Buddy, Cody, Emily, Justin, Samantha, Alissa, Isaac, Alex, and Eric; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bruce (Ruby), Dennis (Janet), and Bernie Pehrson; sisters, Nancy (Alan) Holmberg and Sally Pehrson, and sisters-in-law, Brenda Skaret and Ina (Iver) Christopherson.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Lucas Lutheran Cemetery later this summer.
