Howard Torke Obituary

Howard Torke of Hanley Falls died on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Morningside Nursing Home in Marshall at the age of 66. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls.  Burial will be in Yellow Medicine West Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held at the church one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Arrangements are with Lynner Funeral Home of Clarkfield.  

Howard Torke was born on November 5, 1952 in Woodlake, MN to Harold and Genevieve (Waller) Torke.  He grew up in rural Hanley Falls and attended school in Hanley Falls.  He graduated from Cottonwood in 1970.  He married Vicky Danielson in 1975.  He was a carpenter, farmed and milked cows.  In 1996 he married Sandie Woodruff.

Howard enjoyed being a cowboy.  He was involved in open horse shows, was a member of the saddle club and enjoyed trail riding.  He also was a host at the Upper Sioux State Park.  His favorite things were horses, music, being an auctioneer and working with his livestock.

Howard is survived by his wife Sandie; children: Chad (Vanessa) Torke, Hanley Falls, Adam Torke, St. Paul, Holly (Victor) Zavala, Lucan; step-son: Matthew Woodruff, Willmar; nine grandchildren; sister, Gloria (Mike) Gunlogson as well as extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents
