Gust Lindquist, 80, died December 9, 1987, at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota.

Services were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 1987, at the Assembly of God Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor Jay Norman officiating.

Organist was Becky Benson and the soloists were Paulette Heald and Pat Nelson.

Final Resting Place is the Clarkfield City Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota.

Military rites were by the American Legion J. Ben Johnson Post 169, Clarkfield, Minnesota.

Casket Bearers were Velmin Larson, Jesse Willander, Albin Nelson, Melvin Falkum, Darryl Benson and Stanley Carlson.

He was born May 10, 1907, at Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Nels P. and Carolyn (Skold) Lindquist. He attended school in Clarkfield and Tyro Township of Yellow Medicine County. He worked as a carpenter and later entered the service during World War II. After returning from service, he worked for Henry Appleseth doing grain elevator repair work.

Gust and Bertha Froland were married in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They lived there a short while, then moved back to Clarkfield where he continued to work and later years retired. Due to poor health, he entered the Care Center in November. He was a faithful member of his church and his church was his life.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha of Clarkfield; sister, Anna Meyers of Montevideo, Minnesota; brothers, Oscar and George both of Clarkfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
