Elizabeth “Libby” Johnson was born on November 3rd, 1938, in Clarkfield, MN, to Henry and Edna (Olson) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church and graduated from the Clarkfield High School in 1956. On June 29, 1956, Libby married Donald “Don” Dack at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church and the couple had 5 children. Libby was a spunky spitfire that loved taking care of people, whether it was her grandson Brandon, or nursing home residents, she watched over everyone and often volunteered her time at the food shelf in Clarkfield. She enjoyed bowling, making tie-blankets for others, but nothing compared to her love of all Minnesota sports (especially the Twins and Lynx)—except, of course, her love for her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
On Thursday, November 24th, 2022, at the age of 84, Libby passed away at CCM Health in Montevideo. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Edna; husband, Don; son, Steven; brothers, Henry “Jack”, James “Jim”, Richard “Dick”, David, and John, and sister, Mary.
Libby is survived by her children, Susan (Dany) Pederson, of Alexandria, Sharon (Dewey) Pyle, of Montevideo, Stephanie (Paul) Saby, of Farmington, and Scott (Richelle) Dack of Alexandria; grandchildren, Alecia Moe and Derek Moe, Brandon Dack and Karington (Brad) Strout, Sarah (Matthew) Quigley and Dexter (Andrea) Pyle, Cody (Lauren) Saby and Alison (Patrick) Byrne, Avery Dack, Asher Dack, Alexander Dack, and Anders Dack; great-grandchildren, Shaylea Peterson, Gage Peterson, Graciana Peterson, Keygan Peterson, Abriana Peterson, Brynnlea Peterson, Derek Moe Jr., Alayna Moe, Adelaide Strout, Andrew Quigley, and Crew Pyle; great-great-grandson, Weston Kindt; sisters, Dona Sather and Lois Knutson, and many nieces and nephews.
