Dianne Carlotta (Moen) Wiegers

Dianne Carlotta Moen was born on February 6, 1947, in Montevideo, MN, to Milo and Marvell (Estling) Moen. She and her three siblings were raised in the Boyd area and she was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd. Dianne graduated from Boyd High School in 1965 before attending Mankato State University where she obtained her degree in teaching. She taught in Paynesville, MN for a couple of years, but would ultimately spend over 30 years of her career in the Dawson-Boyd school district as a Title 1 teacher.

On September 18, 1971, Dianne was united in marriage to Donovan Wiegers at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd and the couple were blessed with a daughter, Cheri. Dianne was always keeping busy on her feet, whether it was yard work, landscaping, or her beloved lawn mowing, only stopping to sit to sew and lovingly make T-shirt quilts for her grandchildren. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various activities and was a gentle and caring soul that lived by her motto of putting others before self.

On Friday, September 23, 2022, at the age of 75, Dianne passed away at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. She is preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Marvell Moen; parents-in-law, Arnold and Ruby Wiegers, and sister-in-law, Sue Moen.

Left to remember Dianne are her husband of 51 years, Donovan; daughter, Cheri (Jeff) Panitzke; grandchildren, Caden, Makena, and Alex Panitzke; brothers, Doug (Jo) and Lonny Moen; sister, Wendy (Jeff) Nieuwbeerta, and nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 29th, 2022 from 4-7 PM at the J.H. Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. A private family interment will be held in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Boyd.
