Arden Merlin Hoiland

Arden Merlin Hoiland was born November 26, 1912, in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Alfred and Martha (Ulfseth) Hoiland. Arden was baptized at St. Lucas Lutheran Church of Normania Township. He attended school at Normania District 24.

Arden lived at the home farm for many years, never marrying, and later went to Willow River to live with his brother, Carles T. Hoiland.

In 1969, Arden became a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center in Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church.

Arden liked to smile and visit with friends. He especially enjoyed ice cream and his hardy laugh was heard by many.

Arden passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center on Sunday, January 21, 1990 at the age of 77.

Arden is survived by his two brothers, Clarence and Merton, both of Clarkfield; and two sisters, Clenora Dahl and Muriel Vinnece; along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Arden is death were his parents and one brother, Carles Telmore Hoiland.
