William M. (Bill) Roggenbuck was born at Benson, Minnesota, to parents Frank and Marie (Palatski) Roggenbuck on December 21, 1912. He was the youngest of eight siblings. The family lived in the Rosen and Benson, Minnesota areas until they moved to their farm in Tyro Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, where Bill lived and farmed. Bill served in the United States Army from July 3, 1942, to November 4, 1945. He was a truck driver during World War II and served in the New Guinea Southern Philippines. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and especially trapping. One of his favorite pastimes was driving around in his Oldsmobile and visiting. He lived on his farm in Tyro Township until he entered the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, in March of 1998. Bill passed away on Thursday evening, June 21, 2001, at the Care Center at the age of 88 years and 6 months. He is survived by brother, Paul, of Willmar, Minnesota, and friends Greg and Sandy Koepp, Josh, Joel, and Amanda. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: Frank, Robert, Albert, Anna, Mary, and John. Blessed be his memory.
