IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wilhelmina Caroline
"Minnie" Werner
September 13, 1888 – June 17, 1959
Wilhelmina Caroline Werner, daughter of Daniel and Amelia (Piipke) Werner was born September 13, 1888, in Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. On September 16, 1888, she was baptized by the Rev. Christoph Boettcher, and on June 7, 1903, she was confirmed by Rev. E.G. Fritz. During the pastorate of Rev. R.H. Vollmere, when St. John's choir was organized, Miss Werner served as organist. She was a lifelong and faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro. At home she took care of her parents and took over the household duties, never complaining but always showing them love, giving consideration to them before herself. Together with her brother, Leo, who purchased a home in Granite Falls, she moved to that city on November 10, 1958. For several years she was in failing health, and on Sunday, June 14th, she became seriously ill. She passed away quite suddenly on Wednesday, June 17, 1959, at the age of 70 years, nine months and four days. She is survived by four brothers, namely, Fred of Boyd, Leo of Granite Falls, Edward and Arthur, both of Boyd; one sister, Malvina Manske of Everette, Washington; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Helena, Martha, Lydia and Bertha; and one brother, Albert. She will be sadly missed by the remaining brothers, sister and other relatives. Blessed be her memory. IN MEMORY OF MINNIE C.
