Obituary

Wilhelm L. Hahn, formerly of Dodge Center, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, June 17, 1971, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, after a lingering illness. He had been making his home the last month with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Priebe of Clara City, Minnesota. He had reached the age of 77 years. He was born February 26, 1894, at Elkhart, Illinois, to Louis and Sophie (Kipp) Hahn. On February 24, 1917, he was married to Dorothy Kanzelmann at Minnewaukon, North Dakota. They lived in Oberon, North Dakota, for several years where he barbered and in 1931 moved to Boyd, Minnesota, later moving to Dodge Center in 1951. They made many friends in Boyd and served on the school board for several years. He retired several years ago but continued part time work until three years ago. He was a devoted father and grandfather, showing much concern for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by two sons: Merle of Boyd and Darrell of Willmar, Minnesota; two daughters: Marie (Mrs. William Priebe) of Clara City, Minnesota, and Marilyn (Mrs. Frances Johnson) of Dodge City, Minnesota; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Myrtle Little of Concord, California, Lucinda Lee of Sun City, Arizona, and Doris (Mrs. Blair Chapman) of Donna, Texas; two brothers: Walter of Tidga, North Dakota, and Everett of Yuma, Arizona; as well as many nieces and nephews. His wife, a daughter, one grandson and four brothers preceded him in death. IN MEMORY OF Wilhelm L.
