Wendy D. (Olson) Hofmann was born on January 19, 1952, at Clarkfield, Minnesota, to parents Leo and Gloria (Feist) Olson, She was baptized and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church and remained a member there her entire life. Wendy attended and graduated from Clarkfield High School in the Class of 1971. She then attended Willmar Area Vocational Technical School. Wendy married Gary L. Hofmann at Clarkfield Lutheran on September 1, 1973. They were the parents of a daughter, Josie. Wendy enjoyed her family and was always caring for everyone. She taught Sunday School and worked at YME Schools. She liked working in her garden, with flowers, and caring for animals. Wendy passed away early Monday morning, November 21, 2005, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Dawson, Minnesota, after an eight and one-half year battle with cancer, at the age of 53 years, 10 months, and 1 day. She is survived by her husband Gary, daughter Josie, and father Leo Olson, all of Clarkfield. She is also survived by sister, Ginger (and Peter) Thomsen of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, and their family Jessica Aamot, Amanda Sandstrom, and Grete Thomsen; and brother Gary Olson of Marshall and his family: Jeremy, Joey, and Zachary. Also surviving are her husband Gary's family: brother-in-law, Gene (and Janice) Hofmann of Dawson and their family Jim, Dori, Debbie, and Cindy, and brother-in-law, Earl (and Burnell) Hofmann of Brainerd, Minnesota, and their family Paul, John, and Brenda. Wendy was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father-in-law Roy Hofmann (1988); her mother-in-law Florence Hofmann (1997); and her mother Gloria Olson (2004). Blessed be her memory.
