Obituary

Wendell Dawson Knudson was born October 21, 1909, in Viroqua, Wisconsin to Julius and Elizabeth Smith Knudson. He was baptized at Viroqua, Wisconsin on November 21, 1909, and confirmed at Cottonwood on June 1, 1924. He spent most of his growing up years and all of his adult life in Cottonwood, Minnesota. On August 7, 1933, he married Rachel Lien. Wendell farmed in the Cottonwood area and for several years owned and operated the Cottonwood school buses and a charter service. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years, in addition to serving on church boards, Cottonwood Coop Oil board, Lions Club and numerous church and community activities. He had been battling cancer and died at home on Thursday, June 6, 1991. Wendell is survived by his wife, Rachel, of Cottonwood, Minnesota; two children, Elizabeth Lundquist of Long Lake, Minnesota and Darlene Langan of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Anthony and Erika Lundquist, Matthew, Allison, Brianna and Sean Langan; two brothers, Marvin Knudson of Sun City, Arizona, and Jay Knudson of San Diego, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Thelma Knudson, and one brother, Harris Knudson. Blessed be his memory.
