Wayne Douglas Erickson, age 62, passed away at his home near Park Rapids, Minnesota. Wayne was born at Marshall, Minnesota, on April 24, 1946, to Marvin and Cora (Knutson) Erickson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran Church of Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He graduated from Cottonwood High School, Cottonwood, Minnesota, in 1964 and from Willmar Technical College, Willmar, Minnesota, in 1966. In 1979 he married Debra Meyer of Trimont, Minnesota. After driving over the road for Schwan Food Company for 11 years, he owned and operated the Lakeside Ranch House restaurant in Cottonwood for six years with his then wife, Debbie. He has worked as a Beverage and Chemical Service Technician for Reinhart Food Service for the past 22 years. Wayne loved his family, his dogs, living at his home in the north woods on Gilmore Lake, his job and the people he worked with. He was always ready to tell a joke or play one on somebody. Wayne is survived by his four sons: Troy (Cathy) and Brandon (Kristy) of Duluth, Minnesota, Siver (Vanessa) of Cottonwood, Minnesota, and Justin (Kari) of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; as well as nine grandchildren: Bailey, Arianna, Daniel, Hayley, Christopher, Jayda, Carson, Cale and Cadence Erickson. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Per Wickstrom of Duluth, Minnesota, and his many beloved cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Cora Erickson.
