Wava Marie Fierstine, daughter of Charles W. and Bell (Schaffer) Peters, was born July 22, 1896, at Alexander, Iowa. On July 29, 1914, she was united in marriage to Earl Fierstine, Gary, South Dakota. The couple resided in the Gary and Canby area until 1943 when they came to Clarkfield to make their home. Nine children were born to this union: Delbert, Donald, Ione, John, Ray, Lulu, Anita and twin boys who died at birth. She was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church since December 8, 1946. She passed away at the University Hospital in Minneapolis on Thursday, December 8, 1966, after being ill for several months. She reached the age of 70 years. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Les; and four children: Lulu, Anita, and the twins. Surviving are her five chiuldren: Delbert of Clarkfield, Donald of Ortonville, Minnesota, Ione (Mrs. George Phillips) of Alameda, California, John of Zimmerman, Minnesota, Ray of Marshall, Minnesota, and one adopted daughter, Marie (Mrs. Larry Craig) of St. Paul, Minnesota; 18 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers: Harold Peters of LaPuenta, California, Charles Peters of Alexandria, Minnesota, and Fred Peters of Rochester, Minnesota.
