Walter Roske, Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 1989, at his home at the age of 68. Funeral services for Walter Roske were held jointly with his sister, Augusta, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 1989, from the St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, with Pastor Jon N. Wolff officiating. Organist was Karen Mamer with congregational hymns being sung. Burial was in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Serving as Casket Bearers for Walter were Lambert Abraham, Erhardt Keopp, Walter Lanners, Edmund Leppke, Marvin Pippke and Elmer Wiegers. Walter Albert Roske was born on November 19, 1920, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to Ludwig D. Roske and Bertha (Golnick) Roske. He was baptized December 12, 1920 by Pastor R.H. Vollness. He went to school at St. John's Parochial School and District 49. He farmed in Tyro Township all his life. He also did corn shelling. He was a trustee and active in St. John's Lutheran Church for many years and he served on the elevator board for 15 years. Walter was always willing to help and will be missed by relatives, friends and community. Walter is survived by one brother, William, many cousins and friends.
