Walter Herman Galow, age 93, of the Clarkfield Care Center, died Friday, April 28, 1995 at the Care Center. Services were held Monday, May 1, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro Township with Pastor Joseph Schlawin officiating. Organist was Karen Mamer. Casket bearers were Dale Anhalt, Myron Anhalt, Rick Anderson, Earl Footh, Ross Galow, Randy Pierce and Mark Warmuth. Burial was in the church cemetery. Walter Herman Galow was born February 24, 1902 in Omro Township, Boyd, to Herman and Margarita (Wiegers) Galow. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On June 15, 1927 Walter and Caroline Footh were married at St. John's Lutheran Church. Walter and Caroline farmed in Omro Township until they moved to Granite Falls. He did carpentry work, played baseball in his youth, and was an avid sports fan. He entered the Clarkfield Care Center on June 5, 1992. Walter is survived by his children: Deloris Pierce of Iron Mountain, MI and DuWayne (wife Karen) Galow of Granite Falls; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Caroline in 1990; granddaughter, Chelsey Pierce; son-in-law, Roman Pierce; five brothers: Adolph, Leo, Benjamin, Hugo and Eddie; and sister Lena Pipke.
