Obituary

Wallace Oscar Timgren, 85, died Thursday, August 16, 1984, at the Granite Falls Hospital. Services were held August 18, 1984, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, with Pastor H. Norman Schey officiating. Music soloist was Mrs. Mavis Ellingson with Mrs. Zee Anne Reishus as organist. Final Resting Place is the Cottonwood Community Cemetery, Cottonwood, Minnesota. He was born November 7, 1898, in Underwood Township, Redwood County, Minnesota, the son of Peter and Wendla (Hoggren) Timgren. He attended Rural School District No. 66 of Underwood Township, Lyon County, southeast of Cottonwood. He worked on farms in the area and in 1922 formed a farming, partnership with his brother Lawrence. That continued until after his retirement in 1973. He served in the Army Air Corps in 1942 and was a member of the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church of Hanley Falls. He is survived by brothers Lawrence of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Harold of Vesta, Minnesota, and Glenn of Lake Lillian, Minnesota, plus 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters. Casket Bearers were Stanley Berg, Joe Cole, Jaurold Lundy, Scott Naab, Iren Peterson and Glenn Sharkey.
