Obituary

Wallace Quesnell was born on March 3, 1865, at Crysler, Cambridge County, Ontario, Canada. His parents were Felix Quesnell and Janet Durie (Boshaw) Quesnell. He passed away at his home June 9, 1957, at the age of 92 years, three months and six days. With his parents he moved from his birth place to a farm near Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, in 1881. After a brief period of sheep ranching in Nebraska and Colorado he returned to Sleepy Eye in 1887. In 1889 he was united in marriage to Lida Lutriela Kelly. To this union eight children were born: Arthur of San Gabriel, California, Maude Schave of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Lula Webster of Minneapolis, Walter, who died in World War I, Ira of Minneapolis, Clemence Sisson of Montevideo, Minnesota, Janette Stanfield of Minneapolis, and Donald of Clarkfield, Minnesota. The first three years of the Quesnell's wedded life were spent at Sleepy Eye, where he worked for a livery man. In 1892 they moved to Clarkfield and purchased a livery business and dray line from Mr. John Afdem. In 1910 the business was sold to Martin Mattson and Edward Bergren. The family then moved to the farm four miles southwest of Clarkfield where they made their home until the spring of 1937 when they moved back to Clarkfield. Wallace Quesnell accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 43 years in the year 1908. On December 10, 1944, Mrs. Quesnell passed away. On August 9, 1947, he married Mrs. Marion Clausen of Montevideo, Minnesota. Wallace was the last of a family of eleven children, nine brothers and one sister, all preceding him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory the present Mrs. Quesnell, seven children, 23 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
