Virginia M. (Johnson) Hoff was born to Herbert and Emma (Trandahl) Johnson near Cottonwood, Minnesota, on December 13, 1924. She graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1942. After graduation she worked at Grinager's Grocery in Clarkfield, Minnesota. On January 27, 1946, she married Hubert Hoff. Virginia and Hubert spent their lives as farmers on farms near Cottonwood, Minneota and Clarkfield. In 2004 they moved to Montevideo, Minnesota. Hubert and Virginia raised six children: Gary, Gregory, Julie, Trinia, John and Thomas. She was very proud of her 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Although very ill, Virginia fought a brave three year battle with cancer. She passed away at Luther Haven in Montevideo on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 19 days. She is survived by her husband Hubert, of Montevideo; her children: Gary (Darlene) of San Diego, California, Julie Tollefson of Alexandria, Minnesota, Trinia (Ron) Anderson of Alexandria, Minnesota, John (Shellie) of Willmar, Minnesota, and Thomas (Cheryl) of Marshall, Minnesota. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters: Theodora Miller and Lucyle Varpness; sister-in-law Shirely Javens; and many relatives and friends.
