Vincent George Rupp was born November 2, 1913, at Cherokee, Iowa, to Herman and Maggie (Thiel) Rupp. He was baptized at Mary Hill Parish at Cherokee and confirmed at Renville, Minnesota. At the age of two years, he moved with the Rupp family to Hazel Run where he attended grade school. After nine years, the family moved to Mantorville, Minnesota, for two years. In 1926, they returned to this area and settled near Granite Falls. Vincent attended the West School District and the School for the Blind at Faribault. In 1958, he moved with his father to 1106 7th Street in Granite Falls where he resided at the time of death. He passed away June 7, 1968, at the Granite Falls Hospital from a heart attack, following surgery, at the age of 54 years. He was preceded in death by his mother and three brothers: Elmer, Kenneth and Herman. He is survived by his father, Herman, of Granite Falls; two brothers, Vernon of Clarkfield and Glen of Granite Falls; four sisters: Mildred (Mrs. Clarence Monson) of Granite Falls, Marie (Mrs. Arley Ernston), Dorothy (Mrs. Ed Rude) and Marge, all of Minneapolis; and a number of nieces and nephews.
