Verva May Stroup, 91, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, passed away September 15, 1987, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 18, 1987, from the United Methodist Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Officiating was Pastor Wayne Shelton. Organist was Bea Forsberg with vocal music by Sue Shelton. Casket Bearers were Arden Berg, Stanley Homan, Bernard Jahn, Alvern Johnson, Harlan Moseng and Mardell Olson. Final Resting Place: Clarkfield City Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota She was born June 15, 1896, in Woodward, Iowa, to George and Emma (Wallace) Hemm. On February 18, 1914, in Des Moines, Iowa, she was united in marriage to James William Stroup. They moved to Clarkfield where she was active in the Garden Club, Study Club and United Methodist Women. She is survived by her children Ruby Solberg of Portland, Oregon, Jean Cedarholm of Edina, Minnesota, Keith Stroup of Clarkfield; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James and grandsons Robert and Richard Solberg. Arrangements by Lynner Funeral Home Since 1891 Clarkfield Minnesota
