Vernon L. Stokke was born October 24, 1920, at Clarkfield, Minnesota, the younger of Nels S. and Alma (Anderson) Stokke's two children. He was baptized by Rev. Storaasli and confirmed by Rev. Otterstad at the St. Lucas Church. In January, 1939, he was united in marriage to LuElla Christensen. To this union, three children were born: Verna, Wanda, and an infant daughter who preceded him in death. He lived in the vicinity of Clarkfield all his life, employed in general truck driving. He passed away August 18, 1972, at the age of nearly 52 years. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and their husbands: Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Verna) Tweiten of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Mr. and Mrs. James (Wanda) Dotseth of Minneapolis; three grandchildren: Troy, Kari and Eric Tweiten; and his sister, Myrtle (Mrs. Alvin Hanson) of Clarkfield.
