Verdell Arvilda Lachelt was born September 16, 1921, in Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Ida (Kopitzke) Lachelt. She was baptized by Rev. Bernard Luttman in Zion Lutheran Church and confirmed by Rev. Louis Rosin in the same church of which she was a lifelong member. Verdell was in a wheelchair twenty-four years and bedridden, completely helpless and blind for eight years. She passed away at the Clarkfield Hospital on February 17, 1965, at the age of 43 years. Preceding her in death were her father in 1957 and one nephew in 1955. After the death of her father, her mother patiently and lovingly cared for her up until the time Verdell entered the hospital on January 4, 1965. Survivors include her mother; one sister, Delilah (Mrs. Edwin Macht); one brother-in-law, Edwin Macht; one nephew, Vernon Macht, all of Omro Township. IN MEMORY OF MISS VERDELL A.
