Obituary

Trudy Eunice (Opdahl) Wilson (November 24, 1927 ~ January 16, 2012) Trudy Eunice Wilson was born November 24, 1927, to Johannes and Clara (Highum) Opdahl in Werner, North Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church and attended school in Werner, North Dakota. Following the death of her father, Trudy, her mother and sister Amy moved to Granite Falls, Minnesota, in 1944. She graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1947. Trudy resided and worked in Parkland, Washington, for two years and then returned to Granite Falls. Trudy was united in marriage to Walter O. Wilson of Granite Falls, Minnesota, on September 9, 1950. They farmed until 1960 when they purchased an oil jobber ship in Hazel Run and Clarkfield, while they continued living and raising a family in Hazel Run. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was a passionate, caring and selfless mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her main passion was her family. Despite of losing her sight at about age 60 years, she continued in her firm faith of her Lord. Never questioning her hope of the final destination, her home in Heaven, certainly helped her manage her blindness. Trudy passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012, at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 23 days. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Walter; her children: Debra (Craig) Olson of Burnsville, Minnesota, Stephanie (Perry) Davis of Minneapolis and Tamara (Kevin) Wyffels of Cottonwood, Minnesota, and her daughter-in-law Ruth Wilson of Cottonwood, Minnesota. She is also survived by grandchildren: Chelsey, Michelle and Grant Olson, Nicholas (Reina) Davis, Jessica Davis, Tera (Mike) Lauer, Matthew Wilson, Eric, Justin and Jarrid Winson and Jon Wyffels. Also surviving are great grandchildren Isabella Chase, Ethan, Liam and Dylan Davis, Ansley and Caden Lauer and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gregg, son-in-law Craig Olson, grandson Jacob Wyffels, four sisters and two brothers. Trudy will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
