Tosten (Tom) Thostenson, 89, of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, died Saturday, February 23, 1985. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 1985, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls with Rev. H.N. Schey officiating. Soloist was Mavis Ellingson with organist Coleen Hewitt. Casket Bearers were grandsons Mark Thostenson, Paul Thostenson, Allen Enger, Gary Enger, Brian Enger and Anthony Scherer. Final Resting Place is the East Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. He was born November 18, 1895, in Fillmore County, Minnesota, to Evan and Ingeborg Emma (Wilson) Thostenson. At the age of five he and his parents moved to his grandfather's farm south of Hanley Falls. He attended Country School two miles south of Hanley Falls. He was confirmed at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church by Rev. Ole Lokensgaard. He married Lydia Thorgerson on December 23, 1923. They were in the farming business until they retired in 1969 and lived in Hanley Falls since then. He is survived by wife Lydia; children, Edwin of Hanley Falls, Gaylen of Mound, Minnesota, Lillian Enger of Hanley Falls, and Marlys Scherer of Marshall, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
