Tolvin Johannes Anderson died May 4, 1985, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota. Services were held Tuesday, May 7, 1985, at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Cottonwood, Minnesota, with Rev. John T. Christiansen officiating. The soloist was Henry Broughton with lone Knudson the organist. Casket Bearers were Norval Lien, Arthur Lien, James Lien, Maynard Kaldor, Vernon Kaldor and Paul Lien. Honorary Casket Bearers were Johannes Anderson, Marvin Anderson, Selmer Anderson, Jessie Skaaren, Nels Anderson, and John Anderson. Final Resting Place is the St. Lucas Lutheran Cemetery, Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was born June 24, 1892, at Cottonwood, where he grew up. He later attended automotive school at Kansas City, Missouri. He married Mary Stensrud June 26, 1917, at Cottonwood. He farmed and worked in the winter at Interior Lumber and Fuel Co., Fargo, North Dakota. He retired from farming in 1948. Mary died in 1951. For 18 years he lived at Little Pine Lake near Perham, Minnesota, before moving back to Fargo in 1977. He is survived by daughters, Mrs. Ethel (Pete) DeBuscher, Minneota, and Mrs. Lorene (Sander) Helgeson, Fargo; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
