Tilla Martina Reishus, the daughter of Thomas and Martha Harris was born July 15, 1876, at Arkdale, Wisconsin. She was baptized on August 6, 1876, at the Lutheran Church in that community. At the age of six, she moved with her parents to a farm west of Hanley Falls. She confirmed her faith at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church, west of Hanley Falls on July 20, 1980, before Rev. Knute Thorstenson. On October 23, 1902, she was united in marriage to Sondre Reishus of Cottonwood at Granite Falls, Minnesota, by Rev. Suarrie. To this union, three sons and two daughters were born, namely, Elton, Sondre and Harvey, Octavia and Edna. Tilla Reishus lived on a farm west of Cottonwood with her husband until the time of his passing in 1916 when she moved to Hanley Falls with her family and there she lived until 1963 when she entered the Clarkfield Nursing Home. On the morning of April 1, 1965, she passed away at the Clarkfield Nursing Home at the age of 88 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sondre, and her son, Elton. She is survived by her two sons: Harvey of Willmar, Minnesota, and Sondre of Wood Lake, Minnesota; two daughters: Mrs. Octavia Hughes of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Roy Bestland of Wood Lake, Minnesota; two step-children: Odin Reishus of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Wanda Erickson of Santa Monica, California; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
