Thomas W. Diggins was born at Marengo, Illinois, October 10, 1877, the son of Frank and Aminda (Marsh) Diggins. He moved to the Clarkfield, Minnesota community from Allison, Iowa, in 1903. He was married to Mary Evelyn Benage on September 16, 1903. Mr. Diggins farmed for many years near Clarkfield. In 1948, he moved to Granite Falls, Minnesota, where he lived by himself until August of this year when he became a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center. He enjoyed his home even at the age of 94 and was sharp and alert to the very end. He died at the Clarkfield Community Hospital on December 31, 1971. He is survived by one son, Glenn Diggins of Milan, Minnesota; two daughters: Mrs. Doris Hanson of Granite Falls, and Mrs. Ardeth Dotseth of Clarkfield; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Moore of Allison, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in September, 1956; two sisters: Mrs. Tom Falkum of Clarkfield and Mrs. George Bailey of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin; and one brother, Norm Diggins of Waterloo, Iowa.
