Thomas Olai Benson was born August 23, 1875, in Stony Run Township to Ole and Elizabeth (Thorstenson) Benson. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed in Bergen Lutheran Church on September 21, 1890, by Rev. Ole Lokensgaard, and was a life member of the same church. On June 27, 1906, he was united in marriage to Bertina Eide at Camp Release Lutheran Church. To this union eleven children were born, namely, Esther Dahlgren of Phoenix, Arizona, Corella (Mrs. Oscar Rasmussen) of Silverdale, Washington, Thelma (Mrs. Stewart Berg) of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Ruth (Mrs. John Laemmle) of Minneapolis, Mrs. Minnie Johnson at home, the twins, Ellen (Mrs. Marvin Weight) of Mankato, Minnesota, and Linda (Mrs. Hilman Korstad) of Boyd, Minnesota, Harold of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Eldor of Bakersfield, California, Thoralf and Oliver at home. Deceased is survived by his wife and eleven children and 20 grandchildren. His parents, one brother, three sisters, and a son, who died in infancy preceded him in death. IN MEMORY OF THOMAS O.
