Theoline Jeanette Thompson Hegna was born June 29, 1903, in Hazel Run Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Melvin Hegna July 8, 1923. The couple spent two years at Tolna, North Dakota, and then farmed the John Stevens farm near Hanley Falls, Minnesota, for seven years. From there, they moved to the C.S. Orwell farm south of Clarkfield where they lived from 1937 until March of 1961 when they retired and moved to town. She was an active mother, spending much time after moving to town assisting in local cafes. She was a member of the Hazel Run Legion Auxiliary and the Hazel Run ALCW Circle of the church of which she was a member. She was busy preparing the evening meal, Tuesday, October 10, 1972, when she was stricken with a heart attack and departed this life almost instantly about five p.m. She reached the age of 69 years. Left to mourn her early departure are her husband, Melvin, and fifteen children, namely: Maysel (Mrs. Earl Tweet) of Conrad, Montana, Marilyn (Mrs. Warren Johnson) of Princeton, Wisconsin, Marvin of Clarkfield, Vergil of Montevideo, Minnesota, Douglas of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Wayne of Glencoe, Minnesota, Wesley of Salt Lake City, Utah, David of Garden Grove, California, Dennis of Orange, California, Janice (Mrs. Alton Lindquist) of Madison, Minnesota, Patricia (Mrs. Wayne Myhre) of Montevideo, Minnesota, Kathleen (Mrs. Douglas Steen) of Dawson, Minnesota, Kathryn (Mrs. Stan Haats) of Maynard, Minnesota, Larry of Long Lake, Minnesota, and Melvin, Jr. of Bloomington, Minnesota. Also surviving are 51 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Danena Marcia (Danielson) Thompson; sisters: Alma, Esther and Laura; and one brother, Danford. In Memory Of MRS.
