Theodore Kompelien passed away peacefully Saturday, June 10, 1972, at 10:25 a.m., at the Clarkfield Hospital. Theodore Kompelien, son of Ole and Siri (Thon) Kompelien, was born October 24, 1879, in Westerheim Township, Lyon County, Minnesota. He passed away at the age of 92 years. He was baptized by Rev. Knute Thorstenson and confirmed by Rev. Martin Romstad. On March 8, 1905, he was married to Louise Hanson. To this union eight children were born. He farmed in Normania Township until his retirement and was a lifelong member of St. Lucas Congregation. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on May 14, 1943; a son, Hartford, on September 13, 1947; a daughter, Alice (Mrs. Alfred Zietlow) on November 23, 1969; one grandson, Burton Kompelien; one great granddaughter, Diane Miller; four sisters and six brothers. He is survived by two sons: Orville and Thurman of Cottonwood, Minnesota; four daughters: Mildred (Mrs. Vernon Vanstrom) of Kaston, Minnesota, Eldora (Mrs. Gordon Jolstad), Leona (Mrs. Walter Olson) both of Cottonwood, and Irene (Mrs. Murl Erickson) of Morris, Minnesota; one brother, Otto Kompelien of Minneota, Minnesota; 24 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his passing numerous relatives and friends. Blessed be his memory.
