Theodore W. Hartfiel was born March 27, 1896, in the Omro-Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota to Theodore and Emma (Kelm) Hartfiel. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. November 26th, 1916, he was united in marriage to Hulda Galow. From this union there resulted two children, Lionel and Marilyn. Theodore operated the Hartfiel Oil Bulk Station with his son Lionel until his retirement. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and served as chairman of the congregation for fifteen years. During his active years he was involved in numerous community activities. Theodore passed away Wednesday, June 18, 1980, at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the age of 84 years. Surviving are his wife, Hulda; son Lionel; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; and daughter Marilyn who died in infancy. IN MEMORY OF THEODORE W.
