Theodore Foss was born December 18, 1890, in Friendship Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the oldest son of Hans Foss and Gunhild Hegna Foss. He was baptized and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church where he was a member all of his life. He spent his life on the farm where he was born except for the past six years when his health began to fail and he could no longer live alone. He then made his home with his brother, Selmer, and sister-in-law, Florence Foss. He had been in failing health but was only hospitalized about two and one-half weeks before his death on February 16, 1973. He passed away at Clarkfield Community Memorial Hospital at the age of 82 years. Mr. Foss was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Anna, and two brothers, Henry and Reuben. Survivors are two brothers, Selmer of Clarkfield, and Oscar of LaMoure, North Dakota, nine nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.
