Thelma E. (Renstrom) Wilson was born July 31, 1910, at Strandquist, Minnesota, to parents Erick and Thelma (Tell) Renstrom. She was baptized October 4, 1910, and later confirmed at the Newfolden Covenant Church, Newfolden, Minnesota. Thelma attended school in Strandquist, Minnesota. Thelma met her first husband, Walter Gustafson, while working as a housekeeper for his parents. They were married at Warren, Minnesota, in the 1930s and lived on a farm north of Hanley Falls. They were the parents of two sons: David and Robert. Walter passed away in January of 1951. She married Kenneth Wilson in 1959 and together they farmed until he passed away in 1976. In 1998 she moved to Granite Falls, Minnesota. Thelma was a member of the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Ladies Aid. She also was a member of the 'Birthday Club', one of the oldest birthday clubs in the United States. She enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. Thelma passed away on Friday, June 27, 2008, at the Granite Manor, Granite Falls, Minnesota, at the age of 97 years, 10 months and 28 days. She is survived by her sons: David (and Kristine) Gustafson of Red Wing, Minnesota, and Robert Gustafson of St. Cloud, Minnesota. She is also survived by grandchildren: Jill (David) Blom, Joel Gustafson and Beth Gustafson; great grandson Desmond Jr.; brother Daniel Renstrom; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Walter Gustafson and Kenneth Wilson; daughter-in-law Ardelle Gustafson; and siblings Leo Renstrom, Vera Isaackson and Willard Renstrom.
