Thebert Ferdinand Sheveland, the son of Wilhelm and Britta (Chilson) Sheveland, was born February 3, 1899, in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized March 22, 1899, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church by Rev. Guerning and confirmed his faith in the same congregation before Rev. Ole Lokensgaard. He lived with his family south of Hanley Falls until his marriage on June 14, 1928, to Marion Anderson of Hazel Run, Minnesota, at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Rev. Haugland officiated. Nine children were born to this union. Thebert spent his life in the occupation of farming. He passed away November 19, 1965, in Sandnes Township, at the age of 66 years. He is survived by his wife, Marion, of Hanley Falls; four sons: Wesley, Wayne and Dale of Akron, Iowa, and Merald of Minneapolis; five daughters: Mrs. Mavis Suffel and Mrs. Verna Anderson, both of Minneapolis, Mrs. Shirley Bergthold of Union Lake, Michigan, Mrs. Charlene Hays of Redonda Beach, California, and Miss Mary Sheveland of Hanley Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters: Selian, Arthur, Olai, Reuben and Edwin, Valdina, Bella, Sena, Mary and Annette. IN MEMORY OF THEBERT F.
