Thea Anna Winson was born January 9, 1873, in Bergen, Norway, the daughter of Ole and Abelona Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. As a young girl she came to America, together with her sister, Mrs. Christian Holm. She met and married Lars Winson in the year 1892. To this union ten children were born: Olaf of Valley City, North Dakota, Laura (Mrs. C.H. Olson) of Hazel Run, Minnesota, Hilda (Mrs. Melvin Velde), Alma Johnson, Clarence, Ella (Mrs. Raymond Larson), Florence (Mrs. Clifford Sandager) all of Clarkfield, Miller of Minneapolis, Stella (Mrs. Ivar Swanson) of Montevideo, and one son Severin who preceded her in death. For a number of years Thea with her husband and children lived on a farm in Lisbon Township. After retiring they moved to Hazel Run where they made their home until the death of her husband in January, 1950, then residing with her daughter, Mrs. Alma Johnson at Clarkfield. She was taken suddenly ill on Wednesday morning, June 7th, 1950, and died at the Clarkfield Community Hospital of a heart attack at the age of 77 years. Her parents, several sisters and brothers in Norway, and one sister, Mrs. Sena Holm, of Clarkfield, have preceded her in death. Funeral Services from the home of C.H.
