Obituary

Thea Ree Johnson, 90, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and formerly of Boyd, Minnesota, died Saturday, September 14, 1985, at the Clarkfield Care Center, where she was a resident. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 1985, at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd with Pastor Jeff Swanson officiating. Organist was Minnie Hermanson with solo music by Pastor Swanson. Casket Bearers were Lynell Leasman, Melbourne Fjerkenstad, Edward Agre, Donald Lukken, Milo Moen and Harold Nagel. Final Resting Place is the St. Petri Cemetery of Camp Release Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. She was born September 24, 1894, at Boyd to Sivert and Dorthea (Holum) Ree. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. Petri Evangelical Lutheran Church. After graduation from Dawson High School she attended the Mankato Teachers' College and taught school for several years before her marriage in 1921 to Anton Johnson. Since that time she has resided in Boyd and the past six years at the Clarkfield Care Center. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd and had a special interest in the Sunday School of which she was a teacher for over 25 years. She was a member of the Dorcas Society and served in several offices in that group. She was active in the T. L. C. W. and the Boyd Study Club. She is survived by nephew Archie Wold and his wife Mary and their two sons and families. She was preceded in death by her husband Anton and four sisters.
