Telford L. Berg January 17, 1925 ~ May 4, 2014 Telford LaVern Berg was born on January 17, 1925, to Hardy and Thea (Nodshilder) Berg in Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Spring Creek Lutheran Church. He attended country school until the eighth grade, when he left school to help his father on the farm. He enlisted in the Navy in December 1944 and served on an aircraft carrier based in the Pacific during World War II. He was released early in March 1946 after the death of his father to manage the family farm. On January 11, 1946, he was united in marriage to Deloris Runyon at Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. They lived on the family farm and raised their two daughters, Linda and Diane, until moving to Clarkfield in 1997. He resided at Valhalla Apartments from 2011 until the time of his death. Telford passed away at his apartment in Valhalla at the age of 89 years and 4 months. Telford is survived by his daughters, Linda (John) Lattimore and Diane (Richard) Olson of Minneapolis. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Stacey (Thomas) Simmons, Kelly (Sean) Thompson, Scott (Tera) Olson, Christy (John Eastman), Alison (Jon Madson) Olson and 11 great grandchildren: Nicholas and Jessa Thompson, Jack and Matthew Simmons, Robyn Eastman, Brendan Olson, Lexi and Rylee Madson, Isabella, Annika and Ellaina Olson; sister-in-law, Ardath Johnson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris, his parents and one sister, Harriet Gerbers. He was a wonderful loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed by all.
