Sylvester B. Kockelman was born July 2, 1926, in Minnesota, the son of Phillip and Mary (Betzen) Kockelman. Mr. Kockelman was a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces serving during World War II. Sylvester married Phyllis Laechelt on October 15, 1952, in Watertown, South Dakota. They began farming near Minneota, Minnesota. The couple had two daughters: Nancy who was born in 1953 and Jacqueline in 1955. The family moved to Stony Run Township, near Granite Falls, where they operated the Hollenbeck farm, and raised livestock and dairy cows. Mr. Kockelman passed away Sunday, August 6, 1967, at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Home in St. Paul, Minnesota, at the age of 41 years. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, his daughters, Nancy and Jacqueline, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Kockelman.
