Swen Swenson, the son of John and Bergit (Dahley) Swenson, was born in Hazel Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on September 12, 1890. He was baptized at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church on October 12, 1890, by Rev. Knute Thorstenson and confirmed in the same congregation in May of 1906 by Rev. J.D. Runsvold. On March 13, 1914, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Schlenner of Wood Lake, Minnesota, at Echo, Minnesota. This union was blessed with two daughters, Vivian and Iona. He passed away on December 7, 1966, at the hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota, the result of a fire at his Medina, North Dakota home, at the age of 76 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Hannah. Surviving him are his two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Wandersee and Mrs. Iona Larson, both of Audubon, Minnesota, along with their husbands. Also surviving are his brothers, Ole and Milton of Granite Falls, Minnesota, and his sisters, Gertrude and Esther, also of Granite Falls.
