IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sven Axel
Peterson
January 18, 1894 – August 19, 1969
Sven Axel Peterson, the oldest son of Peter and Emma (Svenson) Peterson, was born in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on January 18, 1894. He grew to manhood in this community. He was baptized by Rev. Bengtson and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on November 14, 1909, at the Swede Home Church by Rev. Carl Larson. He attended school in District 86 and for one year at the Austin Business School. He was united in marriage on August 2, 1917, to Hilda Miller at the St.Lucas Church by Rev. Romstad. The family settled on a farm near Clarkfield. To this union, three daughters were born: Mildred (Mrs. Olender Danielson) of Clarkfield, Stella (Mrs. Bruce Weinhold) and Florence (Mrs. Fred Benson), both of Cottonwood. The family moved to Minneota in 1934 where he was a police officer for several years and then started in the well-drilling business. He retired from this because of his health, which had been failing since he had a heart attack twelve years ago. On April 28, 1965, he married Mattie Jacobson of Tracy and continued to live in Minneota. He passed away suddenly from a heart attack at 10 o'clock, Tuesday evening, August 19, 1969, at the age of 75 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hilda; one sister, Amalie; one brother, Alfred; one grandson, David Weinhold; and his son-in-law, Olender Danielson, who passed away suddenly on May 3, 1969. He is survived by his three daughters; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one step- daughter, Mrs. Donald Kjorness of St. Paul; seven sisters and four brothers: Bettie (Mrs. Knute Thompson) of Cottonwood, Esther (Mrs. John Lynner), Anna (Mrs. Roy Hanson) of Clarkfield, Edith (Mrs. Willard Olevson) of Bremerton, Washington, Emma (Mrs. Oluf Thompson) of Cottonwood, Hulda (Mrs. Helmer Halvorson) of Clarkfield, Ethel (Mrs. Jim Corbett) of Bellflower, California, Ludvig and Winfred of Clarkfield, Oscar of Delano and Fredolph of Westminster, Colorado; and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives. He had been a faithful member of the Minneota Church. He was a man greatly concerned about his family and friends. IN MEMORY OF S.
