Stella Marie (Peterson) Weinhold (July 20, 1921 ~ July 31, 2011) Stella Marie Weinhold was born July 20, 1921, on the family farm near Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Sven (Axel) and Hilda (Miller) Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield, Minnesota. She graduated from Minneota High School. Stella married Bruce Weinhold in Granite Falls, Minnesota, on March 8, 1942. This marriage was blessed with seven children. Bruce and Stella resided and farmed near Cottonwood. In addition to being a homemaker and loving mother she enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, reading, embroidery, baking and cooking. In her later years she enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Wheel-of-Fortune and playing bingo at Valhalla Apartments. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Stella passed away at Valhalla Apartments on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the age of 90 years and 11 days. She is survived by her children: Donna (Duane) Velde of Mesa, Arizona, Bill (Deb) Weinhold of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Merlin (Jan) Weinhold of St. Anthony, Minnesota, Marian (Bruce) Baumann of Glendale, Arizona, Nancy (Mike) Fritz of Minneapolis, Minnesota; son-in-law Rob Kompelien of Minneota, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister Mildred (Danielson) Hawkinson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bruce in 1980; infant son, David; daughter, Becky; granddaughter, Maria; and sister Florence. She will be missed by all and forever be in our hearts.
