Steinar H. Odden was born October 3, 1893, to Hans Steinarson Overland and Anne Odden of Seljord, Telemarken, Norway, the oldest of five children. He was baptized and confirmed in Seljord Church in Seljord, Telemarken, Norway. He came to America at the age of 17 years on March 30, 1911 to the home of his aunt, Anne and Ole Norgaard. He was united in marriage to Marion Hagan of Hazel Run, Minnesota, on September 25, 1918. The marriage was officiated by Rev. P.O. Wee. They farmed near Hanley Falls, Minnesota, for three years and since have resided near Hazel Run. To this union six children were born. Mr. Odden passed away December 11, 1962, at his Friendship Township home at the age of 69 years. He is survived by his wife, Marion and children: Harold of Granite Falls, Carrol (Mrs. Melford Iverson) of Echo, Minnesota, Orville and Charles of Hazel Run, Erma (Mrs. Harry Iverson) of Echo, Alice (Mrs. Darwin Vick) of Astoria, South Dakota; fourteen grandchildren; three brothers and one sister: Gunnar of Canby, Ole Of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Eric of Bo-Telemarker, Norway, and Margit Dalen of Lunde, Telemarken, Norway; two aunts: Mrs. Anne Norgaard of Hazel Run and Mrs. Astre Hauge of Seljord, Telemarken, Norway, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, both here and in Norway. He returned to Norway in the fall of 1959 for a visit with his brother and sister whom he hadn't seen for forty-nine years. IN MEMORY OF STEINAR H.
