Stanley O. Harris was born in Hanley Falls, Minnesota, on September 18, 1911, the son of Julian and Hilda (Joel) Harris. He was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. Ole Lokensgard in the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. He married Dorothy Brock on July 29, 1936. They have lived in Hanley Falls since their marriage. Their union was blessed with two children, Dennis and Linda. Stanley Harris was employed at the Hanley Falls Exchange for seven years. He spent the past 30 years with the Hanley Falls Elevator Company. Earlier this year he was honored by the Elevator Association of Minnesota for having served twenty-five years as manager of the same elevator. He served as village treasurer and councilman for many years. He also was a fireman for more than twenty years. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Hilda Harris of the Clarkfield Care Center; his wife, Dorothy; son, Dennis Harris of Omaha, Nebraska; and daughter, Linda (Mrs. Lynn Anderson) of Hanley Falls. Also surviving is a brother, Harold of Hanley Falls; and three sisters: Arloine (Mrs. H.C. Brown) of Northfield, Minnesota, Mrs. Ada Lee of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Miss Ruth Harris of Minneapolis, Minnesota. There are six grandchildren: Susan, Sharon, Dennis, Jr., and Steven Harris, and Brian and Brenda Anderson He was preceded in death by his father, Julian Harris, and one brother, Vernon Harris.
