Oscar Waller was born March 17, 1891, in Sioux Agency Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to John and Andrea (Sander) Waller. He was baptized at the Rock Dell Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Christian faith at Rock Valle Lutheran Church near Echo, Minnesota. On January 10, 1914, he was united in marriage to Ida Colston. To this union were born twelve children. The three oldest sons preceded him in death. He is survived by the following: wife, Ida; six sons: Carroll and Janus of Minneapolis, Harvey of Montevideo, Minnnesota, Oscar, Jr. of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Charles of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Dwain of Galchutt, North Dakota; three daughters: Ione (Mrs. Hjalmer Foss) of Spokane, Washington, Genevieve (Mrs. Harold Torke) of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, and Eloise (Mrs. Floyd Ellefsen) of Fullerton, California; twenty-seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Alfred of Granite Falls, Minnesota, Carl of Renville, Minnesota, and Joe of Ortonville, Minnesota; and one sister, Anna Lecy of Echo, Minnesota. Oscar was leading an active life and just a short time ago, his picture was published with the fox he had trapped. He had been out with his traps the day he took ill, entering the hospital the same evening. He passed away December 16, 1972, at the Clarkfield Community Memorial Hospital at the age of 81 years.
