Sophie Larson, 82, died Sunday, February 19, 1989, in Weiner Memorial Nursing Home of Marshall, Minnesota, where she has been a resident for the past three and one half years. Sophie Larson was born March 20, 1906, on her parents farm in Swede Prairie Township. Her parents were Bengt E. and Anna (Olson) Nelson. She was baptized on April 1, 1906, and confirmed on March 28, 1920 at Swede Home Lutheran Church, Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She attended District No. 90 school in Swede Prairie Township. On Wednesday afternoon December 26, 1928, she married William Larson at Hope Lutheran Church of Minneota, Minnesota. They farmed near Taunton, Minnesota for one year then farmed in Swede Prairie Township for thirty years, then moving into Minneota, Minnesota in 1961. Survivors include her son, Wendell and daughter-in-law Darlene of Minneota; daughter, Sylvia Dahl of Marshall, formerly of Cottonwood, Minnesota; Grandchildren, Linda Nuytten and Danny Larson of Minneota; Cindy Rialson, Mark Dahl of Cottonwood, Peggy Meyer and Susan Paradis of Marshall; and great-grandchildren Jessica and Paul Nuytten, Rachael and Renee Larson, Wendy, Jimmy and Tony Rialson, David, Katie, Joshua and Matthew Dahl, Tina and Nathan Meyer, Toby and Jacob Paradis; One brother-in-law Hjalmer Larson of Montevideo, Minnesota; one nephew and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, three sisters and two brothers.
