Sena Amalia
(Lee) Anderson
December 7, 1881 – March 5, 1971
Sena Amalia Lee was born December 7, 1881, in Columbia County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Sam H. and Annie (Jarshaw) Lee. She passed away on Friday, March 5, 1971, at the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota. She became a child of God through Holy Baptism on January 15, 1882. She later renewed her baptismal covenant through confirmation on June 27, 1897, by Rev. C.K. Preus and Rev. L.M. Gimmestad. She came to Minnesota to work at the Ole Jarshaw home; later she worked at the home of her Uncle John Jarshaw. She was united in marriage to Alfred O. Anderson on March 18, 1908, at Rio, Wisconsin. The couple farmed in Hazel Run Township for forty years, after which they moved to Hazel Run, where they resided until the time of his death in 1967. She continured to live there until February 8th, 1971, when she entered the Granite Falls Hospital. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary on March 16, 1958, at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church. Mrs. Anderson was an active member of the Hazel Run ALCW. At the time of her death she was an honorary member. She also taught Sunday School. She was a charter member of the Hazel Run Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by one daughter, Maysel (Mrs. Grant Homme) of rural Belview, Minnesota; one son, John of Hazel Run; one daughter-in-law, Pearl (Mrs. Walton Anderson) of Granite Falls; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters: Olga (Mrs. Oscar Evenson) and Ellen (Mrs. George Gunnelson) of Rio, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred; a daughter, Iola; a son, Walton; a granddaughter, Susan Anderson; two grandsons: Gary Homme and Mark Anderson; her parents and seven sisters.
