Obituary

Selmer V. Lund was born July 27, 1905, in Baxter Township, Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, to John and Annie Lund. He was baptized at the Baxter Lutheran Church and confirmed at Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota. He attended school in District 85 near Clarkfield, Minnesota. Selmer married Clara Enstad on September 5, 1931. To this union one daughter, Sharon, was born. They lived and farmed in the Granite Falls, Minnesota area, retiring in 1977, and since then has kept up his yard, planting his flowers, cutting his evergreens; these things he dearly loved. Selmer passed away on Thursday, July 6, 1989, at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife, Clara of the Clarkfield Care Center; daughter, Sharon and her husband Stanley Homan of rural Boyd, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Richard and wife Jodi and great grandchild, Ashley of Alexandria, Minnesota, Lori and husband Todd Risa and great grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie and Steven of Hazel Run, Minnesota, and Randy of Clarkfield; two brothers, Clarence and Einard of the Clarkfield area; one sister, Clara (Mrs. Theodore) Anderson of Willmar, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Selmer was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leonard; and one sister, Esther.
