Selmer Abrahamson was born April 3, 1890, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Mads and Anne M. (Svalestuen) Abrahamson. He was married to Esther C. Hansen in October of 1915 in Hanley Falls, Minnesota. They farmed there until 1928 when they moved to Cyrus, Minnesota, where Selmer operated a gas station. In 1942 they moved to St. Paul where he was employed at Swifts Packing Company until he retired. Selmer entered the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota, in 1973, and resided there until his death on April 10, 1980, after a lingering illness, at the age of 90 years. He is survived by a son, Arrol, of St. Paul; a brother, Clarence, of Wood Lake, Minnesota; five grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; a son, Orice; and a daughter, Elaine Spaulding.
